Minimum Requirements:

BS Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Physics, or Mathematics and a minimum of 3-7 years of job-related experience. Equivalent military training and work experience in the E3 disciplines may be considered.

Work Experience Field: Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), HERO, Radar, Communications, Ordnance, EM field measurements, testing. Experience may include, but is not limited to: providing technical guidance on electrical engineering projects; developing procedures for test and evaluation of electrical systems; measuring environmental effects of electromagnetic energy or radio frequency exposure; operating electromagnetic test facilities or equipment; preparing technical documents for engineering projects; and/or coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams. Experience with MIL STD 464 highly desired.

Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance; current clearance preferred. A moderate amount of travel is associated with this position (25%).

Special Skills: Excellent communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems.




Job Description:

URS is seeking a highly motivated Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Engineer to partner with the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division to develop and implement test and evaluation criteria for the conduct of Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance (HERO) evaluations, Electromagnetic Vulnerability testing and other E3 testing of DoD and non DoD electronic systems including: ordnance, aircraft, ground system equipment, weapon systems, missiles, wireless networks, and fire control systems. The selected candidate will review technical information and intended usage of systems and ordnance, and develop test matrices to mitigate the risk of unintended or unsafe operation due to exposure from high power sources of electromagnetic radiation. In addition, duties include review of technical documentation, development of detailed E3 test plans, participation in test planning meetings and test readiness reviews, performance of E3 testing, gather, reduce, and analyze resulting data, and prepare and publish detailed test reports.
