Job Description:  CH2M HILL Transportation Planner/Public Involvement Specialist - Austin, TX
The challenge? Helping our communities stay safely on the move. Our Transportation Planner/Public Involvement Specialist career path enables you to contribute to diverse project teams throughout Texas. You will be responsible for a variety of functions including: leading research and analysis tasks (qualitative and quantitative); developing findings and writing technical reports; presenting to internal and external project teams, stakeholders, and the public; coordination of internal and external teams; and support for public and stakeholder involvement activities. You will work on a variety of long-range transportation plans as well as corridor plans and additional transportation planning and policy work in the emerging field of performance management; and be involved in the development of transportation design and construction projects. The successful candidate will be expected to plan, prepare and deliver technical information; develop and lead public involvement activities; participate in business development activities; and mentor junior staff in the delivery of technical work and client service.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in planning, public policy, engineering, or a related field, and 5-15 years of progressively responsible work history in transportation planning techniques and stakeholder engagement. Master's degree in Urban, Regional or Environmental Planning or a related field and AICP certification preferred. Top candidates will be team-oriented, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be able to effectively participate in public meetings. Experience with statewide transportation planning is desired as well as proficiency with transportation, environmental issues, and analysis of land use and other aspects of the built environment. Knowledge of stakeholder engagement techniques preferred.

Basic Qualifications
