Minimum Requirements:

• Dynamic, organized, seeking challenges to design state of the art data centers worldwide
• Minimum five years of data center and mission critical mechanical design
• Bachelor's in mechanical engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE)
• Experience designing a data center including HVAC systems for low PUE and highly energy efficiency systems, components reliability and redundancy, CFD modeling, etc.
• Experience planning and conducting work that requires judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria
• Proficient with AutoCAD, AutoCAD-Duct, Revit, Trace Trane, Microsoft Office
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test


Job Description:

URS is a global organization offering services worldwide. We are looking for a proficient Mechanical Engineer that will be responsible for discipline-specific project scopes. The individual must have strong technical skills and high level of integrity.

Incumbent Responsibilities:
• Independently evaluates, selects and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
• As a fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of the subject matter of the functional areas of the assignment, plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
• Verifies that applicable codes and engineering standard practices are being met.
• Resolves issues or problems concerning conflicting design requirements, specifications and/or difficult coordination requirements.
• Conduct peer reviews and make technical presentations.
• Conducts ITR and Detail Check reviews.
• Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering work as a part of a major project or small-moderate scope project.
• Reviews plans and prepares or reviews technical specifications according to the contract documents.
• Coordinate and prepare deliverables (calculations, specifications and drawings) for submittal to clients.
• Represent project(s) to other disciplines and URS management.
• Interacts regularly with clients to expand work assignments or market new work.
• Assists with proposals and scopes of work to provide services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs.
• Receives instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
• LEED accreditation preferred
• Excellent client/customer service skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and within budget/client requests.
• Project management skills including budget control and interdisciplinary coordination
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
