Allegro Coffee Company is a specialty coffee company located in Thornton, CO.  Founded in 1977 with the idea of bringing a superior experience of coffee to the people, we are a recognized and respected leader in the specialty coffee arena. Since 1997 our business has grown to include fine tea, wellness tea, drinking chocolate, and spices. In 1997, we became a wholly owned subsidiary of Whole Foods Market.                                                                                                                                                                                                            
Whether were at origin sourcing coffee, tea, cacao or spice, or at our headquarters in Thornton, CO roasting and blending, we are mission driven "committed to offering quality products, grown in sound social conditions at origin, and supporting sustainable farming practices.       We are very excited to now offer full management of the Coffee Department at the recently located Whole Foods Lincoln Park Store in Chicago IL. 
SUMMARY:
The Allegro Caf Team Leader will play a key role in managing daily operations consistent with Allegro and Whole Foods store strategy and integration of local needs. Cultivates a welcoming environment serving as a gathering place that consistently delivers the highest quality coffee, and other beverages with unparalleled customer service. Capitalize on opportunities to build sales & profits and manage daily operations that support continuous improvement.
DUTIES:
• Work cooperatively with RCC to establish annual plans and budget for Coffee/Juice Bar and ensure revenues, expenses and margins are on target each period.
• Perform tasks associated with the job including purchasing, receiving, invoice handling, inventory and margin reconciliation.
• Develop positive working relationship with other departments within Whole Foods including Store Team Leader, department team leaders and marketing team.
• Interview, hire and train team members to sustain high performance and minimize turnover.
• Perform all aspects of managing a coffee/juice bar including:
- Manage and execute weekly schedule
- Ensure Coffee/Juice Bar meets all Health Department and Food Safety Standards including equipment maintenance and cleaning.
- Daily cash register operations and cash count.
- Implement promotional programs.
- Conduct team member job dialogs.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Proven successful caf or restaurant management and team member training
• Knowledge of coffee, tea, juice bar, gelato and bakery products, quality standards and equipment.
• Proven analytical ability and proficiency in math sufficient to calculate margins, monitor profitability and manage inventory.
• Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends and evenings.
WORK CONDITIONS
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour day.
• Work requires bending, twisting, squatting and reaching as well as hand use such as grasping and pulling and fine manipulation.
 
Essential Job Functions:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat.
  • Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds.  Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
