Business Systems Technician - The Villages, FL The challenge? We provide a range of custom-tailored operations and maintenance solutions of all public and private utility systems for our client in The Villages, Florida. The project encompasses ten water treatment systems, four wastewater treatment plants, and collection and distribution systems, meter reading, and residential and commercial sanitation services. The Villages, located outside of Tampa, serves a population of 87,000 residents.
The purpose of this position is to provide general support to the CH2M HILL Operations and Maintenance Services for the District Utilities department in the use of business systems, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and GIS systems. This person must be able to respond respectfully, tactfully and resourcefully to complaints brought forth by citizens or District personnel in the process of seeking resolution to inquiries, and provide general or specialized office, clerical, database, administrative and programmatic work in support of all Operations and Maintenance Services.
Our Business System Technicians: - Perform duties of customer service representative and liaison between the District Utilities and the Operations and Maintenance Services. Responsibilities include processing work orders within Maintenance Connection, a CMMS system and reconciling the work orders with the District Utilities CMMS.
- Manage data capture, input and quality control of spatial data using ARC GIS 10.1 in an SDE environment.
- Perform as overall Software Management Technician on site.
- Keep up with current technology and implement upgrades to existing programs.
- Perform field inspections and training as required to ensure staff is adequately trained in data gathering procedures.
- Monitor the performance of customer service and field staff as they complete data entry in Maintenance Connection for data integrity.
- Consult with Operations management staff on policies, procedures, rules, regulations and practices relating to safety, security, efficiency and effectiveness of District CMMS.
- Conduct staff CMMS training and develops written procedures.
- Conduct research, write reports and prepare correspondence in response to internal and external inquiries.
- Assist in researching information, creating reports, analyzing reports as needed, and make recommendations.
- Assist in the creation and monitoring of performance metrics designed to meet contractual compliance, best management practices and system performance as provided per Prudent Utility Practices.
- Assist in entering data accurately for asset tracking and work order creation.
- Assist in the system administration of the Maintenance Connection CMMS software program.
- Provide interface with Client contacts in a professional manner using strong inter-personal skills.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work.
- Be a self-starter and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ensure all parties are kept informed and that feedback from either party is distributed appropriately to keep things up to date.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for CMMS and GIS systems.
- Apply technical knowledge to business areas as needed, including but not limited to: Operations, Customer Service, and other business opportunities as they arise.
- Analyze business process controls and procedures, recommend and implement changes where needed; in addition, suggest solutions to business needs.
- Assume a leadership role on Business System Project Delivery, including but not limited to: establishing goals and objectives (identifying customer requirements), developing project delivery plans, and managing schedule and quality.
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with supervisors, coworkers and clients.
- Performs other similar duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications - Two year college degree in the areas of office professional or business systems, or advanced experience to offset
- Five (5) years general office experience preparing documents and processing data through the use of Microsoft Office Suite applications or other word processing and spreadsheet software
- Valid FL Drivers License with no major infractions
