Minimum of 2 years related experience and / or training with Satellite Systems and Military Radios / Communications systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior military experience required
Must be able to obtain an Interim Secret Clearance; current SECRET clearance preferred.

Job Description:

URS is seeking an Electronics Technician for OCONUS support to the DTCS Operations and Management program. The selected candidate will assist with the installation, fabrication, modification and operation of test equipment to be used on the DTCS system. Will be required to operate a variety of computer systems to assist in the collection and compilation of data. Will perform a wide variety of duties in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of computers and peripheral equipment. Will test electronic circuits and components to locate and replace defective components using appropriate electronic test equipment and hand tools.
Will upgrade workstation / Iridium radio hardware and software as required. Will configure new hardware as required and provide training to other team members and end users.
Must have the ability to communication effectively, orally and in writing, to maintain effective working relationships and provide technical guidance.
This position will be OCONUS and has an end date of April 2014 with the potential of 6 month extensions as required/allowed. Once OCONUS, the work week will be 84 hours / week (12 on, 12 off).
The successful candidate will be trained and deployed within 4-6 weeks of onboarding so they must ensure that all medical and dental issues are taken care of prior to their start date and that they will be able to pass the medical and dental exams required by the military prior to deployment OCONUS
