Minimum Requirements:

The minimum qualifications for this position include:
• Associate's degree or completion of technical trade school courses, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant AutoCAD® piping design / drafting experience developing energy, oil, and gas facilities, and minimum of 5 years design of Modular Cryogenic Gas Process Plants & Equipment.
• Experience in using AutoCAD® 3D & CADWorx® design software to develop 3D piping and equipment models, including proficiency in mechanical, piping 3D design, equipment / facility layout for modular gas processing plants. Must be able to specify 5 gas plant projects as Design Lead or Manager (Client, Plant Name, and Capacity).
• Ability to read and manage revision of P&ID's, Electrical Schematics, PFD's, piping and equipment, Civil and Structural drawings.
• Knowledgeable of accepted design drafting practices and presentations, including compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, air coolers, distillation towers, plant structures, hot oil, fired heaters, dehydration, amine, boilers, flares, product storage / vents / drains, tank farms, truck / rail loading, metering, or underground piping.
• Interpret and incorporate relevant specifications as detailed in RFQ and in client Specifications
• Ability to communicate deviations, difficulties and the required changes to Designers and Supervisor(s) and/or the Project Engineer.
• Experienced in feasibility, front end engineering design & development & checking, construction support.
• Managed personnel utilizing gas processing industry standard software, i.e. piping (CadWorx® - COADE), pressure vessels (COMPRESS® - Codeware) and pipe stress analysis (Caeser II® - COADE), Control Valve (Firstvue®), Relief Valve (Sizemaster® - Farris).
• Broad technical background, awareness or knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (ASME, API, ASME, ANSI, DOT, ISA, NEC, ACCI, AISC, UBC, ASCE, NFPA, AWS, NACE, IBC, etc).
• Effective time management, planning, organizational and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and pay attention to detail
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must be able to travel to field project locations with lead designers or engineers to make field sketches, take dimensions, etc., and climb ladders, stairs, and pipe racks at these locations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, training and demonstrated personnel management skills.

The Process Engineering Group of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Plant Layout & Design Manager for immediate employment in the Gas Processing & Liquefaction department. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. You will be joining a team of self-performing engineering, fabrication and construction for the supply of turnkey plants and specialized process equipment solutions to oil & gas, gas processing and the downstream process industry segments. This position involves the development, design, and drafting of 3D CAD based mechanical and piping drawings for the energy, oil, gas, and petrochemical industry projects.
Responsibilities:
• Leads and manages a team of designers delivering design drawings and specifications and a product technology portfolio from custom and standard plant and equipment products across divisional and multi office process group comprised of a team of professionals dedicated to development, design and start-up of Plants and Process Equipment for Oil & Gas treating / production, Natural Gas Liquids, Fractionation, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Refining Offgas or Sulfur Recovery.
• Prepare, manage and approve 3D designs and estimates from general instruction and/or preliminary sketches, diagrams, or schematics, including advanced drafting and drawings: plot plan / general arrangement, mechanical, piping, modular and offskid equipment, vessel, civil, structural, instrument and electrical drawings.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Construction providing the most optimum plant layout with respect to cost, specification requirements, schedule and constructability.
• Serve as Lead Mechanical/Piping Designer on equipment and plant modular designs, including offskid equipment, interconnecting piping, product handling, safety and utility systems.
• Prepare Line Lists, Manual Valve Lists, and Drawing Lists.
• Recommends modifications and changes for design improvement and simplification.
• Produce, manage and oversee complex technical drawings and piping isometrics.
• Prepare working drawings from conceptual layout to detailed finished product.
• Participates in setting strategy/direction, planning, organizing, controlling, reporting and leading the process engineering and technology group.
• Manages and adjust workloads and schedules to balance project requirements with available resources
• Provides the technical and administrative support to team leaders and Project Managers to help them achieve their financial goals.
• Coordinate CAD projects with other discipline personnel.
• Prepare and assemble project deliverables.
