Job Description:

CH2M HILL Resident Engineer Careers - Spring/Woodlands Area
CH2M HILL is seeking the services of a full-time Resident Engineer for a $1b construction project including 38 miles of four-lane highway around the North sector of Greater Houston. This position requires experience on large highway/bridge projects working for the design builder or the Agency. The duties and responsibilities are briefly described below and include oversight of Owner Verification Inspection Staff to perform random inspections of the Design Builder's Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities to monitor and record compliance to the Project Management Plan and the Design Build Contract.

You should be a self-motivated professional with a proven and successful 8-12 year track record of construction quality management on design build bridge/highway construction projects, design build field experience, excellent communication, detailed oriented, demonstrated experience with civil infrastructure, project controls, health and safety training, a solid understanding of surveying, civil and structural details and construction plans. You will be a liaison between engineers, our client, subcontractors and stakeholders. TxDOT experience is ideal but not required.

Our Construction Quality Auditor:

Min of 8- 12 experience in construction quality management role of design build of a major highway bridge project
Prepare reports to the owner as required by contract for quality related issues during construction.
Assist with implementation of the project safety program.
Provide issue resolution and identification of potential claim situations.
Performed construction quality audits
Prepare Non Conformance Reports of developer's quality program. Review and respond to developer's responses and proposed solutions.
Review OVI reports for accuracy and electronically approve reports
Coordinate with Owner Verification Testing Manager on testing required for the project.
Review submittals and provide comments.
Prepare requests for information on design, construction or quality management by the CQAF.
Review monthly Schedule submittals and assist the project schedule team in review of work completed in the field.
Review monthly pay requests from the developer as requested by the schedule team.
Participate in Partnering and continuous training of all the OVI and OVT staff as relate to the work activities.
Attend Work Activity Planning meetings with the developer.
Attend Safety and Construction Task Force Meetings and other weekly meeting as needed.
Review material submittals as requested
Provide support in performance and specification requirements.

Basic Qualifications

A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a minimum of 8-12 years experience with quality management of design build of highway bridge infrastructure.
TxDOT experience is ideal but not required. Construction Management oversight on other DOT projects is a requirement.
Must have experience overseeing construction surveying, construction management of civil and structural details and plans, constructability reviews, CPM schedules and Short Interval Scheduling of staffing for oversight requirement of the contract.
