Product Engineer About Tesla Tesla's goal is to accelerate the world's transition to electric mobility with a full range of increasingly affordable electric cars. The Role Tesla Motors is seeking a 12V Electrics Product Engineer who has had 3-5 years of integration, validation, and troubleshooting responsibility for 12V sensors, ECU's, modules, and electromechanical sub-systems. This engineer should have a strong background in 12V vehicle architecture. Previous electrical design experience is a plus. Responsibilities Responsible for 12V modules from inception to end of life Previous experience designing electronics and hardware Evaluate current and future operation of 12V modules from a system level to determine issues and opportunities for optimization Proficiency in CAN and LIN interfaces from a hardware, software, and tools perspective System integration experience Ability to plan, execute, interpret, and document validation testing Component and system level troubleshooting skills Interpret and manage drawings and specifications Technical interface with suppliers Work with vehicle manufacturing: Optimize performance Installation Train factory manufacturing engineers and associates Engineering change order management Requirements Bachelor's in Engineering with minimum 5 years of experience has experience developing products from scratch Have solid technical depth in analog or RF systems. Be skilled working with cross functional team-members from multiple disciplines to reach fact-based decisions Ability to communicate and drive suppliers Strong problem solving skills and desire to work in fast paced environment Hands-on experience designing and debugging products Previous CAD exposure Have experience with environmental constraints (temp, humidity, and vibration), regulatory compliance and product debug (EMC/EMI, ESD, transients, etc). Have solid technical depth and breadth in analog and digital circuit analysis Be able to work closely with design, software, firmware, testing and manufacturing teams Tesla Motors is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity.
