Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Public Health or a related field and 3 years of job related experience or equivalent. Experience in program management support is required. Master's preferred.
Work Experience Field: Must have experience working in an office setting and possess strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with statistics, quality control and scientific/medical terminology is a huge plus. Ability to interact effectively with senior scientific professionals.
Special Skills: Working knowledge of word-processing, database management and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform data extraction and detail-oriented work are required. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize assignments in accordance to program goals. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
Job Description:
URS is seeking a Scientific Program Support Analyst for our Washington, DC office supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Research and Development.
1. Provide program management support to scientific program manager in the administrative elements of the Biomedical Laboratory/Clinical Science Research and Development Services BLRD/CSRD research portfolio.
2. Maintain document-related spreadsheets and database using quality control techniques to ensure reliability and quality.
3. Perform data entry and data extraction of program-related data used by scientific program manager's to make scientific, management and budgetary programmatic decisions.
4. Coordinate the in-take, validation, and review of all program submissions.
5. Execute appropriate audit controls to ensure program tracking system is consistent with program records.
6. Compose issue briefs and executive summaries for the VA Office of Research and Development.
7. Support meeting management functions recording meeting minutes, and generating all pre and post meeting correspondence.
8. Effectively communicate program related scientific and non-scientific information to stakeholders.
9. Act as non-scientific project manager for career development and Just-In-Time programs which includes: maintenance of web portals, policy updates, central point of contact for program inquiries, and periodic reporting on programs as requested by senior management.
