Job Description:  General Summary This role will be primarily responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting and for driving the forecasting, financial analysis and decision support efforts for the Northern California region.   A successful Senior Financial Analyst will work independently, be deadline driven, drive continuous improvement and possess strong modeling, analytical and communication skills and excellent problem solving and partnering abilities.
 
Essential Functions
 
  • Partner with team on the quarterly and annual business planning process, working with stores, regional and central partners to establish goals, timelines and proper leverage/conversion targets for the Northern California Region.   Develop and maintain planning models that incorporate mid and long term strategic visions and promote the development of a 3 year business plan.   Own the planning milestone process, ensuring that the store and regional partners are kept on track to achieve planning commitments/deadlines as well as the annual and quarterly review decks for senior management.
  • Own the budgeting/benchmarking methodology process, partnering with Store Operations and Store Business Analyst to define areas of opportunity as well as expense centers that can be leveraged through the application of a consistent model and targets, creating a level of standards and transparency to the planning process.
  • Partner with store leadership and regional teams and drive the review of financial performance, define, develop and maintain review tools and reporting that aide in the weekly, monthly, quarterly review.   Recognize inconsistencies in financial data and initiate corrective action and follow-up.
  • Provide leadership and decision support in the area of capital investment, own the annual capital planning process, creating a general set of standards to plan and manage capital throughout the year as well as the out years.   Partner with regional and central leadership including the Store Development Team to keep complete visibility within capital investment current.
  • Drive the store review analysis process, identifying areas of strengths as well as areas of opportunity and improvement to create focus for Store Leadership as well as Store Operations and Regional Finance reviewing areas of but not limited to controllable expenses, labor rates and occupancy.   Be an active partner on cross functional teams with focus on strengthening stores profitability.
  • Continually evaluate current processes, systems and tools to drive efficiencies and integration while reviewing value added enhancements.
  • Prepare various financial reports and ad hoc analysis as requested.
  • Other duties as requested.
 
 
Requirements
 
  • Bachelors degree in Finance and 5 to 7 years of related experience in field of Retail Finance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Independently manages time and priorities for multiple projects
  • Strong attention to details, delivering relevant, accurate and timely information to business partners.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, analyze; instructions, correspondence, financial reports, legal documents, Process maps, Project plans, spreadsheets
  • Ability to create effective written correspondence, procedure manuals, reports and instructions for specific financial processes and tools including but not limited to budgeting, GM/EVA estimating tools
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one interaction, meeting/group participation/presentation situations involving Team Members, Team Leaders, Store/Facility Leadership, Regional Leadership and National/Global Leadership
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate percentages, interpret graphs, create graphs, calculate interest, apply concepts of algebra, analyze variances, Net present value and other financial measures
  • Ability to use Microsoft office Suite and PeopleSoft at intermediate level and Excel and Essbase software at an advanced level
  • Must be able to travel 10% of the time, 8% on day trips and 2% overnight which could include weekends.
  • Work hours are typically from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays days; may include occasional weekends/hours may vary and covering 5 days per week.

  • Ability to use phone, computer, headset, 10-key, and personal protective equipment
