Minimum Requirements: • Minimum Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
• State of Florida Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain by reciprocity
• Minimum 5 years of work experience working as a design engineer on power, drive and control systems for Civil/Industrial facilities
• Must be capable of drafting electrical and design drawings using CAD drafting software
• Must be capable of using electrical test equipment
• Familiar with government, client, and industry local codes, regulations, and standards governing design and construction projects in their respective field
• Knowledge of applicable health and safety requirements
• Must understand technical content for Architectural, Civil, and Mechanical, discipline work in order to effectively design or specify solutions for power, control and illumination of those projects
• Valid driver's license required
• Often requires visits to project sites

The Structures Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Electrical Engineer for immediate employment in the Tampa office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Electrical Design and Inspection specific to Industrial/Utility design. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including Heavy Movable Structures such as: movable bridges, locks, dams, etc.
Incumbent Responsibilities:
• Designs electrical equipment, facilities and infrastructure/utility systems for commercial, industrial, construction and governmental clients. Designs electrical power, drive and control systems for heavy civil applications including movable bridges and navigation locks.
• Develops, designs, and specifies components for electrical power distribution systems and control systems utilizing relay and/or programmable logic control (PLC) equipment
• May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
• Often engages in construction cost estimation for discipline-specific construction
• Perform inspection of facilities and produce reports and repair recommendations
• Develops familiarity with regulations governing the implementation and operations of these systems.
• Verifies QA/QC of own work and work of project team that individual is responsible for
