Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's in Architecture
Minimum of 7 years experience working as an architect on institutional and healthcare design and construction projects that range in construction value from $1 Million to $20 Million. Experience should have an emphasis on production and managing multi-discipline Architecture and Engineering production teams.
Experience should include supervision of staff members and leadership and communication skills in mentoring junior staff and team members.
Must be a licensed architect in the State of New York, New Jersey or in another state with the ability to obtain reciprocity though NCARB.
Position requires an advanced ability to understand how to organize a set of construction documents, detail the construction of a building or a renovation and coordinate with multiple disciplines to complete the detailing of a building or a renovation. Candidate must possess extremely sophisticated technical ability to address detailing and construction challenges of significant complexity.
Candidate must be proficient in architectural detailing and interdisciplinary integration. The work could include Planning, Feasibility Studies, Building Assessments, LEED Building Design, Programming, Design, Construction Documents and Construction Administration.
The candidate must have advanced ability to understand design and construction schedules and understand the construction cost/schedule implications of design and detailing decisions.
Candidate must have a strong knowledge of current applicable building codes and healthcare codes.
Candidate must have the ability to produce documents in AutoCAD and in 3-D programs such as Revit, production of specifications with MaterSpec or E-Specs. Candidate must have proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Must have ability to effectively communicate with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, Owners, Contractors, etc.
Requires effective planning, decision-making, organizational and time management skills, as well as effective written and verbal communication skills.
