Job Description:  An excellent opportunity for an entry level Cash Controller within our busy Cash Control team has become available.

This individual will be responsible for the reconciliation and clearing of POS related financial transactions in Market stores to minimise the risk of bad debt and enhance discrepancy reporting.

Role Definitions

Primary Accountabilities:


  • Perform data uploads relating to credit card settlements and store deposits and escalate identified discrepancies in a timely manner to the FSS Cash Control Analyst

  • Conduct daily clearing of financial transactions for market stores by tender type e.g. cash, credit cards etc.

  • Prepare for the FSS Cash Control Analyst discrepancy reports and tolerance write-offs for the various profit and loss discrepancy accounts

  • Process and clear agreed write-offs

  • Provide the Loss Prevention team with weekly store Market Cash Reports

  • Assist with the period, month and year end procedures and reporting




Other



  • Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to secure and identify opportunities for FSS related projects and to provide excellent customer service

  • Liaise with internal and external customers on query resolution

  • Identify and develop areas for continuous improvement in order to increase best practice within the FSS team

  • Contribute to the successful achievement of monthly team targets and KPIs

  • Responsible for maintaining the ethical standards of The Body Shop including minimising the environmental, health and safety risks in the workplace and responsible for reporting potential risks, real accidents and near misses to relevant managers

  • Champions, supports and participates in The Body Shop's Values and Campaigns

  • To perform other related duties as assigned or requested


Personal requirements for role

Experience:


  • Proven experience of Retail POS and/or banking

  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007. Advanced excel essential

  • Knowledge of SAP and BW reporting

  • Experience of negotiating with key stakeholders

  • Excellent organisational skills



  • Ability to resolve problems with a resilient disposition



  • Sound communication and negotiation skills






Qualifications:


  • Educated to 'A' level or equivalent
