The Role

The Lead Technical Expert for Ergonomics in Manufacturing will have a daily presence in the departments (line side) and be responsible for incident analysis and follow-up (countermeasure verification / development).

Responsibilities
  • Department safety support/equipment evaluations
  • Training/Education - Identifies ergonomic training needs for the entire plant, develops the necessary programs, and provides or arranges for all required ergonomics training to all associates, as suited to their job functions
  • Assist departments in ergonomic risk assessment and risk reduction activities
  • Act as a resource for and provides guidance/feedback to department safety representatives, engineers and other technical staff to help them improve their skills in applying sound ergonomics principles
  • Use/develop Tesla Ergonomics Guidelines to assess working conditions and countermeasure options
  • Identify ergo concerns related to design, and communicates and addresses such issues working with Engineering and Design.
  • Conduct equipment and design review of existing and revised processes or machinery; conduct on-site ergonomic evaluations; repetitive stress injury prevention and investigation;

Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience as a licensed Ergonomist, Safety Engineer or similar
  • Bachelor's in Physical Therapy, Ergonomics or related
