Education:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, business or related field, or demonstrated equivalent and related experience.

Experience:
• Entrants to this position require 6 years of experience in engineering, procurement and construction projects or operating industrial facilities in a cost control position including some field experience required
• Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and maintain effective cost control programs.
• The successful candidate must be willing to relocate within the first 12 months of the assignment and / or be willing to travel extensively for assignments ranging from 18-36 months in duration.
• Must have Oil & Gas/Petrochemical EPC project experience
• Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States.


Preferred Requirements:

• 2+ years field experience preferred.
• Prism Cost Management Software experience preferred.


Additional Information:

• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
• Relocation benefits and/or per diem may be offered dependent upon project locations, length of project, etc.


Job Description:

URS Corporation is seeking a Project Controls Cost Analyst to support several projects within the division. This position may begin in the Houston, TX office and will then relocate to a project site or project office shortly thereafter. Project sites and offices are in various locations throughout the United States. The relocation of this position will be dependent on project scopes and workloads. International locations may be required as well.

Project Services - Our Project Services group partners with Energy & Construction operating groups to execute projects by providing top-caliber, professional personnel trained to deliver projects with efficiency and certainty; anticipating and responding to project needs; deploying-with market-driven agility-well-integrated processes, systems and tools designed to enhance project efficiency; maintaining a market-competitive cost structure; and seamlessly integrating functions into cohesive project teams. Our services include engineering, project controls, quality, procurement, construction and others.


Position Description or Typical Responsibilities:
• The Project Controls function within the EC division of URS Corporation focuses on satisfying client expectations by working directly on project sites and in offices the department supports.
• Skilled in the use of company cornerstone systems and able to represent cost data formats necessary to control the project.
• Understands financial terminology and measures and recognizes the financial impact of various project actions.
• Participates in analyzing and using financial data to identify key project issues.
• May assist in leading junior staff through assignment tasks.
• Participates in tracking action items.
• Able to use drawings and specifications in the establishment of project baseline data.
• Knowledgeable of accounting principles with extensive understanding of the manner in which the company establishes and documents the financial position.
