Minimum Requirements:

• M.S. degree in Occupational or Industrial Hygiene

• Experience working in manufacturing or occupational health setting - internships qualify

• 40 hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training

• Experience with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Access, Project, Outlook and PowerPoint

• Valid Driver's License

• Willingness to travel throughout New England and beyond

• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test


Job Description:


The Infrastructure and Environment Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Industrial/Occupational Hygienist for immediate employment in the Rocky Hill, Connecticut office. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The appropriately qualified applicant can look forward to projects including local and global interactions on a multitude of environmentally focused service offerings.

• Successful candidate to assist with client and project management for a broad range of environmental assessment and remediation projects with a focus on industrial hygiene services
• Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and health programs, systems and procedures
• Assists in monitoring hazards and diseases that could be present in the work area. Exposure type assessments require current knowledge of utilizing field monitoring equipment including noise dosimeters, indoor air quality meters, and moisture meters
• Participates in recommending improvements to processes, design, procedures and equipment to minimize hazards
• Additional responsibilities will be determined based upon the needs of mangers and/or clients and may require priorities to be adjusted on short notice.
• Position will report to a local manager and will work with various engineers, scientists and administrative personnel
