Role Overview

Provides technical direction and assistance to electrical superintendents and craft.
Performs inspections of all electrical work in progress on a continual basis and complete final checkout of electrical installations to ensure quality and conformance to specifications and codes prior to turnover to client for startup.
Assists project controls and supervision in the establishment of detailed work plans and mini-schedules.
Performs takeoffs and initiate and track field purchased materials for electrical commodities.
Responsible for on-site Setroute database and associated interface with electrical installations and tests.
Coordinates and documents client and vendor required verifications of electrical installations and tests.
Coordinates with vendor technical advisors as required.
Coordinates with engineering to resolve drawing and Setroute issues
Inspects permanent plant materials during the receiving process to insure they meet project standards and drawings
Prepares FMRs for purchase of permanent plant materials
Coordinates and inspect subcontractors' electrical work activities.

Basic Qualifications

Previous Bechtel experience required.
Experience in construction and technical inspection in the areas of installation and testing of electrical systems, lighting systems, high voltage equipment, grounding, DCS systems and cable pulling activities.
Must be familiar with Australian codes and standards for electrical installations.
B.S. in electrical engineering or related field plus minimum 5 years experience in field engineering and construction.
Must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheet and current BSAP's, including Setroute.

Additional Information

Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
