Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Civil and /or transportation engineering or related field required.
EIT must be obtained with ability to pass PE exam within 4 years. Salary commensurate with registration status.
Proficient in CADD software (Autocad and Microstations) for design applications on traffic, electrical and ITS design.
Knowledge of basic traffic engineering design and analysis techniques including use of the HCM 2000/2010, MUTCD 2010 and California Supplemental Traffic Manual.
Interested in expertise in traffic and electrical design including lighting and ITS element design.
Job Description:
URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Graduate Transportation Engineer for immediate employment in the Santa Ana office. The appropriately qualified applicant will perform transportation and traffic engineering duties with responsibility for assisting in preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates to Caltrans and local agency standards. The qualified Applicant will do the following:
• Performs standard traffic engineering computations or capacity analysis.
• Preparation of traffic and electrical drawings and details.
• Performs basic existing conditions and traffic survey work.
• May run transportation and micro-simulation models, level of service calculations and utilize traffic and lighting design software.
• This candidate will receive close supervision from a project engineer on all aspects of traffic engineering assignments.
• You will use limited exercise of judgment on design and planning details of work and in developing traffic engineering alternatives.
• Performs assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard traffic engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out project specific tasks.
