ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Information Security Analyst II (ISA2) is responsible for participating in information security-related issues such as the implementation and routine management of the security infrastructure for The Nature Conservancy. In pursuit of this mission, the ISA2 coordinates tactical information security activities with information technology and other staff in a complex, decentralized global organization.

The ISA2 performs the following activities:
  • Routine management of TIS Security technical infrastructure.
  • Monitoring TIS infrastructure.
  • Primary technical contact for Tier-2 support staff regarding malware detection and response.

This position requires routine contact with TIS as well as non-technical staff.  This position reports to the Information Security Manager and supervises no staff.

DUTIES
  • Perform implementation and routine management of information security infrastructure including endpoint protection (antivirus, host-based firewalls) and security management (IPS/IDS, SIEM) systems.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Tier-2 staff regarding malware alerts, reports and response.
  • Perform routine management of TIS Security communications, including intranet and other collaboration systems.
  • Perform inventory tracking, software license management, etc. for TIS Security infrastructure.
  • Participate in the development of technical security standards for configuration of endpoint devices (computers, mobile devices, etc.), servers (file, database, web, etc.) and network equipment (routers, wireless equipment, etc.).
  • Participate in incident response activities.
  • Participate in in-depth technical security testing and analysis of proposed and existing technology solutions.
  • Provide advice and consultation for staff on information security-related policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Write technical documentation for and deliver technical presentations to TIS staff.
  • Participate in system audits to identify vulnerabilities and to ensure compliance with legal requirements as well as organizational and technical policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Periodically assist with investigations, discovery requests and related activities as directed by Ethics & Compliance, Internal Audit and/or Legal.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer sciences, information systems, information security or similar technology-related field.
  • Four (4) years of information technology experience in system or network administration and client support.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with security-related aspects of information systems including endpoint security products, client operating system configuration and networking technologies.
  • Experience with system administration of servers and network equipment (routers, wireless devices, etc).
  • Experience working in a decentralized global organization, supporting staff and/or systems located in multiple states and/or countries.
