ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Urban Program Assistant performs a variety of administrative tasks, which may include budget preparation, travel arrangements and meeting logistics, scheduling, file maintenance, reporting and tracking information for the program.  S/he provides direct support to NYC Urban Program Director and other members of the Program, and may support other senior managers.  Includes frequent interaction with all members within the organization; as well as customers, vendors, and business relations.  S/he makes interpretations and recommendations as appropriate.  Other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree and 1 year related experience or equivalent combination. 
  • Experience with MS Office, including use of the Internet.
  • Experience coordinating projects, setting realistic deadlines, managing a timeline, or related activities
  • Experience working with a wide range of people, such as board of directors, donors, volunteers, the public and/or all levels of staff.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree and 1 year related experience or equivalent combination. 
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English.  Fluent Spanish would be a plus. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize time and manage diverse activities.  Meet deadlines.
  • May require database management skills with ability to produce reports.  Ability to use advanced computer functions including navigating the Internet to conduct research.
