ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Corporate Relations Director Europe supports The Nature Conservancy's conservation goals by working with a multi-disciplinary team in TNC's Europe Program, External Affairs, international programs and global priority programs to develop and implement partnerships with individual companies and a Europe-wide corporate relations strategy.

JOB DUTIES
  • Develop and advance a focused strategy to develop relations with the European corporate sector, specifically with European companies that do business in The Nature Conservancy's international conservation regions.
  • Engage those companies on advancing their strategies on sustainable use of resources and sustainable investment. Help to build understanding and capacity in those companies for the Conservancy's conservation objectives.
  • Build relationships with the European corporate sector that lead to increased giving for the Conservancy's conservation objectives, specifically in our international conservation regions.

The Director of Corporate Engagement - Europe reports to the Managing Director of TNC Europe and works closely with the Managing Director for Corporate Engagement. . This position will manage staff as hired to the department. S/he serves on the region's leadership team and is considered a senior manager of The Nature Conservancy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, international relations, public policy, natural resource management, or related field and at least 7 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Multi-year working experience that includes work in the corporate sector or business.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree preferred in business administration, international relations, public policy, natural resource management, or related field and 7 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Multi-year working experience and strong network in the corporate sector or a business association. Experience in the reinsurance, energy, or water sector a plus.
  • Profound knowledge of international and European policies related to climate change and energy, biodiversity conservation and international development; and related political, social, and economic conditions and issues.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and demonstrated ability to work independently with little to no oversight.
  • Extensive management experience including ability to motivate, lead, set objectives and manage performance of a large multi-disciplinary team.  Ability to foster an environment of creativity, professional growth and connectivity across the network of external affairs professionals at the Conservancy
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time and diverse activities.
  • Demonstrated experience in MS Office, Word, and Excel.  Ability to use advanced computer functions including navigating the Internet.  Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data.
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Conversational fluency in more than one European language in addition to English.
  • Knowledge and prior experience living in Europe, understanding of European business environment, various European cultures.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel internationally on a frequent basis, including all continents minus Antarctica.
