The Gladstone LNG (GLNG) Project is a grass roots 2 Train Liquefied Natural Gas Facility that will be constructed on Curtis Island, (near Gladstone) Australia on a camp status, fly in/fly out basis for non-local personnel. It will be performed using a combination of Direct Hire and Construction Management of experienced specialist Australian Subcontractors methods. Unless otherwise indicated, applicants for construction positions should have heavy industrial Direct Hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken and the requirements identified below.

Role Overview

As the Craft Supervisor - Scaffold you will be responsible for coordinating, planning and supervise scaffolding needs on the project including allocation of resources and directing daily work activities of sub-contractors and direct hire staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Inspection of all scaffolding materials to ensure with safety quality and material specification requirements.
  • Managing the scaffold materials both quick stage and tube and clip in terms of lay down, erection, dismantling and regular safety inspections
  • Interfacing with all disciplines to ensure planning of scaffold needs and resources meets construction requirements
  • Supervise and oversee dedicated direct hire scaffold crews
  • Provide expertise and advice to other disciplines on all matters relating to scaffolding
  • Foster a culture amongst the workforce to ensure that safety and environmental considerations are rigorously and consistently applied during all delivery tasks
  • Preparing reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress and craft personnel forecasts.
  • Monitoring the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
  • Implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned operations.
  • Coordinating activities with other disciplines or areas and clients' resident representatives, as instructed by construction management.

Basic Qualifications
  • Strong supervision experience including the ability to lead and manage change is desirable
  • Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong experience of liaising with and coordinating contractors and vendors
  • Strong technical knowledge of LNG facility installations
  • Excellent problem solving ability
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, construction or project management is desirable

Note

Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
