TNC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Associate Director of Philanthropy bears responsibility for engagement, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of portfolios of 75 - 125 current and prospective donors with capacity of $100,000 + to support emerging state-based, regional and global priorities for conservation and prepare the Virginia Chapter for significant contribution to an upcoming organization-wide campaign. In the context of sophisticated wealth analysis of the Conservancy's database, the Associate Director of Philanthropy will play a central role in qualifying and engaging prospective donors of $100,000 +. To that end, s/he must be experienced in designing and executing strategies to bring a donor from membership to a gift at capacity, with demonstrated success in developing substantive donor relationships, creating high end networks in a major market and at engaging and supporting natural partners in executing donor strategy. Additionally, s/he must be able to work in collaboration with state-based scientists and other conservation experts as well as across a large, dispersed and complex organization. Understands and complies with all TNC gift-related policies and procedures and ensures ethical compliance, as defined by the Association for Fundraising Professionals. Finally, s/he must be curious and self-motivated to learn domestic and global conservation strategies and become adept at linking the two. A demonstrable commitment to conservation will be a distinct advantage. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

AUTO SAFETY POLICY This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with the Conservancy's Auto Safety Program. Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles, rental cars, or personal vehicles on behalf of the Conservancy if considered "high risk drivers." Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record.
