ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead the development of a best-in class monthly donor program for the organization by providing expertise and enabling an integrated approach for the acquisition and conversion across all direct response channels canvassing, DRTV, direct mail, telemarketing and digital. Lead the strategy to maximize revenue and increase number of sustaining/monthly donors through acquisition, conversion, retention, upgrading, and additional gifts.  Supervise and implement solicitations to upgrade and raise additional gifts from existing sustainers, and reinstate lapsed sustainers.  Develop strategies and best practices for engaging sustainers after acquisition and maximize retention rates.   Work in partnership with other Membership teams and Digital Membership to develop and implement strategies for sustainer acquisition initiatives and to optimize touch-points targeting active and lapsed sustaining donors.  Develop business rules for operations processes related to recurring gifts (charge processing, check fulfillment, delinquency notifications).   

Consult on development of international sustainer programs to ensure consistency with US program and appropriate adaptation to international markets. 

Prepare and manage P&L budget, produces regular income reports, and oversee cost analyses.  Analyze program results and evaluate the payback on supporting initiatives with ROI and NPV projections.    Develop internal communication plans and work with Director of Global Membership to make strategy recommendations for US and International Membership program initiatives supporting Sustainer growth.

Responsible for aggressively growing a $5M Sustainer program over the next five years.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field and minimum 7 years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experience supervising and managing staff and teams.
  • Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.
  • Experience in project and account management, including measuring results of strategic plans and programs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field and 7-10 years experience in direct response marketing or equivalent experience in one or more of the professional marketing disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to manage one or more staff.
  • Demonstrated proven ability to manage an account or client relationship.
  • Ability to develop, implement and measure results of strategic plans and programs
  • Successful experience in project management and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Practical knowledge of current and evolving trends in relevant marketing discipline
