ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for the day-to-day oversight and growth of The Nature Conservancy's national canvassing program. Activities include coordination and implementation of multiple city campaigns to include advance planning, schedule development, creative/messaging, on-boarding and continued training of campaign teams.

Work with key stakeholders to initiate canvassing campaigns in cities from launch to continuation on messaging. Train canvassing teams, coordinate internal communications and share program results.  Manage one or more Canvass agency(s) to monthly recruiting goals.  Work with membership program managers to ensure touch-point strategies are in place for the cultivation and retention of canvass-acquired donors.

Coordinate and manage canvassing annual budgets.  Analyze results against key performance indicators and make recommendations to on short- and long-term strategies.  Develop reports that measure and evaluate the national face to face program against industry standards and best-in-class programs. 

Reports to the Director of Acquisition.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field and minimum 7 years experience or an equivalent combination including experience of a minimum of 3 years in managing fundraising programs, specifically canvassing (also known as face-to-face fundraising)
  • Experience in project and vendor management.
  • Experience with contract negotiation
  • Experience with current direct response marketing methods and  technology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Demonstrated knowledge of direct response marketing and/or fundraising principles, and experience with audience segmentation.
  • Experience managing large scale canvassing fundraising programs and proven expertise with principles of face to face fundraising cost-effectiveness, including market sector targeting, product offer development, features-benefits-solutions selling, cost per response, cost per conversion
  • Demonstrated analytical ability
  • Experience with developing revenue and expense projections and long-term metrics.
  • Proven computer skills and knowledge of word processing, database management and spreadsheet software, with ability to construct decision-oriented reports.
  • Strong organization skills, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and communication skills with ability to articulate ideas in a compelling manner.
