The Pennsylvania Chapter of The Nature Conservancy seeks a knowledgeable, energetic conservationist for the position of Habitat Management Coordinator. The position, located in the scenic Pocono Mountains in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, offers the opportunity to join the staff of one of the largest, most successful conservation organizations in the world. The Nature Conservancy's global success can be measured by the protection of 117 million acres in over 30 countries. The Pennsylvania Chapter is known in the Conservancy and beyond as a leader in innovative, effective strategies that benefit both people and nature at a scale that matters. Our past successes include protecting over 80,000 acres of key habitat and helping to restore natural, healthy flows to Pennsylvania's three great river systems. The Habitat Management Coordinator will play an important role in achieving the Chapter's goal to protect the lands and waters of Pennsylvania, the region, and the world for future generations. TNC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The Habitat Management Coordinator is based at our Long Pond, PA office and participates in the maintenance, management and monitoring of the Pennsylvania Chapter's portfolio of preserves and conservation easements while assisting with the development of ecological management plans and projects. This may include one or more of the following functions:

AUTO SAFETY POLICY This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with the Conservancy's Auto Safety Program. Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles, rental cars, or personal vehicles on behalf of the Conservancy if considered "high risk drivers." Please see further details in the Auto Safety Program document available at www.nature.org/careers. Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances. These conditions:
