About Tesla

Tesla's goal is to accelerate the world's transition to electric mobility with a full range of increasingly affordable electric cars. California-based Tesla designs and manufactures EVs, as well as EV powertrain components for partners such as Toyota and Daimler. Tesla has delivered more than 2,400 Roadsters to customers worldwide and received more than 13,000 reservations for Model S. Model S, the world's first premium sedan to be engineered from the ground up as an electric vehicle, began deliveries to U.S. customers in June of this year and was named Motor Trend's prestigious 2013 Car of the Year.
The Role

This role provides project development support for all phases of Tesla's Supercharger and stationary battery projects, including site diligence, design, construction and closeout. The ideal candidate will tirelessly create opportunities, adapting to external factors and internal guidance helping to manage up to 25 projects at a given time.

The responsibilities of this position may change over time-this role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of the project and the organization. There will be opportunities for career growth based on performance and interest.
Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine site audit guidance and conduct site diligence.

  • Develop and refine proposal packages for property owners, utilities, cities/counties and other key partners

  • Help to draft and negotiate LOIs and ground leases, and help to manage ongoing landlord relationships

  • Work with the real estate attorney during review of lease

  • Work closely with project developers and external partners to help assess the installation costs and timeline

  • Work closely with project developers and design engineers to identify optimal site layout

  • Assist with construction management and project close-out

  • Build and maintain relationships with key deployment partners

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of project management or consulting experience, preferably involving both public and private sectors, new power service and/or distributed generation projects

  • Ability to function autonomously in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

  • Proven track record of managing multiple simultaneous responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in electrical or civil engineering, or a related field

  • Basic design engineering skills are preferred but not required

  • Able to communicate effectively to a wide range of individuals

  • Willingness to travel up to 75% over the first 12 months of employment, as needed

  • Proficient with Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
