Minimum Requirements:

High School diploma/GED and no job-related experience or equivalent. Good communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Shop environment in which mechanical equipment is operated is loud and noisy, and some pieces of equipment have exposed moving components. Routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying, and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required.
Also sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Job Description:

URS is looking for an Engineering Technician I to join our team in Crane, Indiana!

The Technician will perform simple routine tasks under close supervision or from detailed procedures. Work is checked in progress or on completion. .

Provide advice, assistance, guidance or counseling to the government in support of DoD implementation of SAP ERP materials/Asset management modules and their integration with the other SAP Modules. This may also include studies, analysis and reports documenting any proposed developmental, consultative or implementation efforts/recommendations.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for the refurbishment and engineering support including the maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and testing of diverse mechanical parts and containers.

Work will require the use of basic carpentry tools, media blasting, painting, etc.

Will require on-site customer interface and must comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, system specifications and test procedures.

Perform simple or routine tasks or tests such as tensile or hardness tests, operates and adjust simple test equipment, and records test data.

Gathers and maintains specified records or engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc. and performs computations by substituting numbers in specified formulas, plots data and draws simple curves and graphs.

Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
