Job Description:

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• A professional engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the structural design, specification preparation and contract document development for heavy-civil projects including dams, hydraulics structures and buildings
• Colorado PE or the ability to obtain one within six months
Additional Qualifications:
• Experience with structural analysis and design of heavy-civil concrete structures for dams including spillways, outlet works, penstocks, and intake towers
• Effective written and verbal communicator
• Proven experience working a with multi-disciplinary project teams
• Ability to work independently, think critically and proactively, and work efficiently in a team oriented fast-paced environment with multi-disciplinary teams and on multiple projects simultaneously
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Some experience with construction, shop drawing submittal review and construction observation required.
• Experience with clients, project design teams, schedules, timelines and budgets required
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

Job Description:

The position requires the candidate to be familiar with structural analysis and design of heavy-civil concrete structures for dams including spillways, outlet works, penstocks, and intake towers. Candidate will also be involved in the structural analysis and design of small industrial buildings for dams and water projects. Position requires the candidate to be familiar with construction plan development and CSI format specification preparation. The work will involve the design of reinforced concrete structures and foundations, structural steel building s and structures, steel penstocks and the candidate must be familiar with ACI, and AISC design codes as well as the Army Corps and Bureau of Reclamation design Standards. The position includes overseeing and coordinating work efforts of multi-disciplinary design teams and communicating with clients. The position requires interfacing with existing local and regional clients and involvement in marketing activities. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those stated above.
