ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Philanthropy Operations Manager is responsible for overall philanthropy support for the Texas chapters.  S/he monitors pledges and funds raised against "One Conservancy" and state fundraising goals.  Organizes and leads prospect review meetings to assure timely cultivation, solicitation, follow-up, data entry and tracking of new and current prospects.  S/he manages researches and prioritizes 'suspect' pool for assignment to the fundraising team.    Monitor and analysis of metrics used to evaluate philanthropy program.   Coordinate major gift proposal and preparation. Works with philanthropy and program staff to implement defined major gifts program objectives and keeps philanthropy staff informed of all major gifts activities in the state. Prepare stewardship reports for all major gift donors. Interacts and coordinates with Worldwide Office, regional, and local networks on donor coordination of all prospects in the state.  Prepare Board of Trustees philanthropy board materials.  Work directly with Director of Philanthropy in developing revenue projections for budget and three year philanthropy forecast and strategic goals and tactics.  Develop annual philanthropy work plans and monitor against philanthropy and fundraising goals.

S/he may be responsible for the supervision and professional development of philanthropy support staff.  Key user for fundraising management system and promotes accurate and timely data entry of gifts, pledges, interactions, moves and other information.

Provide leadership support for all activities related to philanthropy and related program areas, including team and individual strategy meetings, campaigns, portfolio analysis, database management, prospect research, annual appeals, events, proposals, trustee reports and donor stewardship reports.  

Serve as a liaison between philanthropy, marketing, campaign and finance staff.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years related work experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience in managing and motivating staff, interns and/or volunteers.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training and interest in fundraising principles & practices.
  • Experience using Word, database management, Excel and MS Office data tracking, data analysis.
  • Experience preparing presentations, charts, and graphs.
  • Experience with donor research, donor communications, including proposal and stewardship reports.
  • Experience designing, implementing and managing multiple projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5 - 7 yrs. related work experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience in managing and directing multiple projects and developing strategies
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles & practices, preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in business writing.
