Job Description: 
Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Registration and designation as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Connecticut or Commonwealth of Massachusetts or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire
• LEED AP certification
• Minimum seven (7) years of relevant electrical engineering experience which includes electrical design for new buildings, restoration and renovation projects
• Experience in the design of power distribution systems, lighting systems, telecommunication systems and other building related electrical systems
• Experience coordinating MEP systems with architectural design and field experience providing construction administration services
• Proficient with computer-based modeling systems and software for the design of power distribution and illumination systems
• Working knowledge of Mircostation, AutoCAD, REVIT, and other industry standard computer software
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
• Excellent supervisory skills
• Must be able to supervise staff on multiple projects, provide adequate management, technical leadership and support to team members and verify that all work is completed as planned and scheduled in compliance with company quality assurance practices
• Strong verbal presentation and communication skills
• Skills to clearly communicate with clients, URS peers and provide clear direction to staff working under their direction
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and computerized electrical system analysis skills
• Must be able to work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists
• Possess skills and experience sufficient to participate in electrical group management, as this position will involve management of multidisciplinary projects with accountability for scope, schedule, and budget
• Valid driver's license required
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

Job Description:

The Infrastructure and Environment Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Electrical Engineer for immediate employment in the Rocky Hill or Boston office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Electrical Engineering, specific to Facilities and Lighting. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

Incumbent Responsibilities:
• Serve as a lead engineer on assigned projects and/or complex engineering assignments
• Oversee the design activities of junior engineers and designers to ensure quality controls and project criteria are met and within budget
• Serve as a project manager on engineering related projects
• Organize/plan projects and prepare man-hours estimates
• Assist in the development of department standards and procedures
• Support proposal and business development efforts
• Establishes client relations and is involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
• Plans, directs and monitors all aspects of large multi-discipline projects or medium sized projects with high degree of technical complexity
• Involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently
• Conducts schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with project managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines
• Engineering Management responsibilities include: staff development; project profitability tracking; management of project scope, schedule, and budget; internal and external client management; electrical coordination with other disciplines; electrical design cost estimating; manpower forecasting, and staff scheduling
• Organizes and conducts mining related geotechnical engineering investigations and planning work which has a well-defined scope
• Researches feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions and regulatory agency specifications
• This position requires the flexibility to serve as a cross-disciplinary resource to best serve the needs of the URS Corporation.
