Job Description:  SUMMARY:
Your role as a Catering Supervisor/Specialist will include coordinating and executing all catering orders for each department at the store, producing menus, and meeting the Whole Foods Market product and quality standards. Additionally, you will assist with and support the regional Prepared Foods vision. You will ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and t eam members.
DUTIES:
- Give every customer immediate and undivided attention. Surprise and delight the customers with consistent, delicious food.
- Execute Regional Prepared Foods Catering Program for Store, including maintenance of all in store marketing material. (Podium w/ picture book, catering menus and folders - stuffed and displayed, all regional holiday menus as necessary)
- Follow Regional Guidelines for Catering Menu including Menu Development, Graphic Design, Recipe Guidelines, Production Guidelines and all Costing. (Food, Packaging and Labor)
- Work with Prepared Foods Team Leader (TL) to implement all Team Member training, information and support material. Includes order taking, maintenance of orders, inter-department communication, food production, communication and delivery to customer.
- Ensure customer satisfaction.
- Work with Regional and In-Store Marketing Teams to develop catering presence in marketplace using Regional menu.
- Maintain focus of Regional Catering Menu to establish consistency in catering programs from store to store.
- Communicate with leadership regarding progress and/or challenges with the training and implementation process.
- Work with Prepared Foods TL, Store Marketer, and Store Leadership to execute internal and external catering events.
- Ensure that all transfers and teams get charged properly.
- Follow and comply with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and adhere to safe work practices.
- Operate and sanitize all equipment in a safe and proper manner.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous kitchen, culinary, deli, restaurant, kitchen management, cooking or customer service experience preferred.
- A passion and appreciate for good food.
- Must be able to articulate vision of Regional Catering program to all Team Leaders, Team Members and Store Leadership.
- Ability to use all equipment and tools (must be 18 years of age or older)
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team; ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness.
- Effective time management skills.
- Strong work ethic and integrity.
- Proper handling of knives and other cutting equipment.
- Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the department.
 
Essential Job Functions:
  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. Bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat.
  • Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds.  Push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Environmental exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, ovens, freezer, outdoors, etc.)
