Job Description:

Responsibilities: Perform engineering duties such as preparing detailed transportation design plans using client project specifications. Utilize high level of technical and analytical skills to develop and evaluate transportation engineer design concepts. Work individually and team environment to prepare detailed transportation design plans using client project specifications. High level of technical and analytical skills to develop and evaluate design concepts. Creative design making is required to solve unique transportation problems. High level communicator, both written and verbal. Position requires thorough knowledge of highway design methodology including but not limited to horizontal and vertical alignment, superelevation and transition, highway drainage, operational analysis, risk analysis and safety analysis. Position requires thorough knowledge of interchange and intersection operational analysis and proficiency in Highway Capacity and Traffic Simulation Software. Position requires to design within a 3D computerized model/format. Position requires analysis of intersection sight distances and superelevation diagrams, creation of highway and interchange geometrics, creation and revisions to right-of-way plans, prepare and analyze highway quantity cost estimates within Cost Estimating Software (CES) or OMAN, develop and evaluate proposed intersection and interchange designs, preparation of cross-sections, design and layout of construction details, prepare grading plans, design guardrail systems, sidewalk ramps and crosswalks. High level proficiency to develop and analyze in a 3D computer application, such as INROADS and GEOPAK to model interface between the new roadway and the existing ground footprint, use of application tools to develop design roadway and ditch profiles, evaluate earthwork and other project quantities, verify intersection spot elevations and design ADA curb ramps. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with an integrated team environment. Assists with business development, such as technical writing, graphics etc.
