The Gladstone LNG (GLNG) Project is a grass roots 2 Train Liquefied Natural Gas Facility that will be constructed on Curtis Island, (near Gladstone) Australia on a camp status, fly in/fly out basis for non-local personnel. It will be performed using a combination of Direct Hire and Construction Management of experienced specialist Australian Subcontractors methods. Unless otherwise indicated, applicants for construction positions should have heavy industrial Direct Hire construction experience commensurate with the type of work to be undertaken and the requirements identified below.

The Craft Supervisor - Instrumentation will be responsible for execution and planning of direct hire activities on the GLNG Project, including task allocations, priority setting, monitoring and maintaining performance in assigned area or discipline whilst coordinating with other discipline superintendents, craft supervisors to undertake work scope.

Responsibilities include:
  • Review and monitor progress and cost with Project Reporting Systems. Maintain vigilance to negate repair and rework. Report on cost impacts and progress problem areas.
  • Monitor and review project procedures, documentation, drawings, specifications, materials, plant, equipment and tools to ensure timely needs. Report on impact to schedule targets and activities.
  • Provide regular progress updates to maintain communication through construction reports.
  • Instruct, Monitor and Review Quality Assurance and Installation Practices. (Use Standards, scope , spec , Electrical Legislation,& approve permits as required)
  • Aggressively promote & sponsor safety activities on all levels and project areas .
  • Instruct, Monitor and review compliance to site permit procedures (Confined Space, Isolation Procedure, HV Isolation Procedure).
  • Monitor & review the Project Environmental Plan and Implementation of Project Procedures.
  • Communicate model & expectations of leadership to your team.
  • Be aware of terms and conditions of Project Industrial Agreement.

Basic Qualifications
  • Strong supervision experience including the ability to lead and manage change is desirable
  • Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong experience of liaising with and coordinating contractors and vendors
  • Excellent problem solving ability
  • Experienced at managing site safety and quality control
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, construction or project management is desirable

Note

Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
