THE PROJECT
Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company (SABCO) has worked as the management services contractor directly with our client, the Saudi Arabian Royal Commission for the last 30 years. We are the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) managers, managing design submissions from local AE firms, contract and procurement management, and overseeing the actual construction work being performed by local contractors and sub-contractors in Jubail Industrial City.

Projects we are actively involved with in Jubail include: new residential communities, petrochemical industrial zone site preparation, various commercial buildings and structures, mosques, schools, hospitals, sports facilities, clinics, a new 30,000 student university, utility services and infrastructure (electrical sub-stations, lift stations), roads and highways, port & pipeline expansions, and more.

JOB DUTIES
Maintain project safety awareness and enforce company safety policy.
Monitor contractor Quality Control Program. Facilitate coordination of contractor's work with third parties, i.e., utility agencies or other public utility agencies and client's end users department.
Review contractor's technical submittals and verifies the compliance upon material delivery at site. Respond to contractors technical queries and coordinate with Engineering Department and PFE on technical issues.
Fully responsible for the quantities of the contract. Supervise quantity reporting.
Monitor contractor schedule and ensure that contract progress and cash flow milestone is met. Sound knowledge of Project Scheduling and construction sequencing of Building Projects is expected. Knowledge of Primavera Version 6.0 is preferred.
Coordinate with Contract Supervisor; prepare daily report for each contract with the brief description of activities supported by the quantities executed that day.
Review and verifies contractor's monthly invoices. Review O&M manuals, monitor as built. Evaluate construction material testing results.
Provide technical support to the preparation of Field Change Requests and Change Orders. Participate in construction progress meetings.
Review engineering design packages for constructability issues and lessons learned.
Participate in final inspection and leads the documentation like O&M manuals, as built drawings, punch list and final quantity at initial acceptance.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to new hire graduate Saudi mechanical engineers.
Conducts daily field QC inspections to ensure compliance with approved shop drawings, specifications and codes.
Performs technical evaluation of bids as required

REQUIRED SKILLS
University degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with extensive construction supervision experience
Supervision experience in Building applications and site development.
Familiar with air water cooled chillers, air handling units, package AC units, central split AC units, exhaust systems, energy recovery equipment, sanitary system, hot and cold potable water systems, storm drainage systems, fire suppression system, building management systems, fire, irrigation and water booster pumps, irrigation piping network, sanitary manholes, catch basins, fire hydrants, sewage lift stations and covering equipment.
Able to supervise commissioning of all HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Suppression System and all other associated work with residential and public buildings.
Familiar with International Codes & Safety Standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, etc.
A basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Auto-CAD, Excel and Primavera is important.
