ROLE OVERVIEW: Requires broad bases experience in the Mechanical arena dealing with schedules and material issues. Inspects construction work for compliance with drawings, specifications and codes. Revises prints as indicated by drawing change notices draw field sketches, as-built drawings. Interprets design engineering drawings and prepares construction working drawings for the use of superintendents as required, including: Prepares or directs preparation of field bulk material purchase requisitions, Including estimating the quantities and material takeoffs of the field purchases of materials. Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings and specifications. Prepares daily progress reports, periodic photographic progress reports and keeps supervisors informed on progress of assigned tasks. Reviews project design and engineering documents to ensure their completeness. Assists the Planning and Scheduling Engineers in their functions and performs planning and scheduling as directed. Work includes field inspections, climbing ladders, scaffold, work on elevated platforms, permanent ladders, work on uneven surfaces and work in confined spaces. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS : (Must meet all aspects of Basic Qualifications in order to be considered for this role) -2-5 years of Construction or Engineering experience -BS in Mechanical Engineering -Previous Nuclear experience -Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted access to Watts Bar Nuclear Plant. -Must be able to comply with site procedures. -Must be able to pass written and proficiency test relating to applicable procedures. -Must have a valid U.S. driver's license -Must have the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship -Must have the ability to walk in excess of a half mile in all weather conditions: into and out of the project (enter / egress) . -Must have the ability to climb stairs into each trailer multiple times during a shift. -Must have the ability to walk on uneven & unpaved surfaces.
