Job Description: 
Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in geography, planning, engineering, computer science or related field
• Minimum 2 years of ArcGIS desktop 9.2 or greater GIS experience.
• Must be able to clearly demonstrate the following capabilities:
Advanced editing (Use of topology, three dimensional editing, cogo, advanced drawing tools
Raster data processing
Geographic Analysis (Buffer, clip, etc.)
Versioned Editing
Disconnected Editing
• Must show propensity in developing FDGC compliant metadata
• Must be eligible to acquire and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test


Job Description:

* This position is a 6 month assignment with the potential to become a longer term assignment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Provide technical support for the creation and visualization of data layers and map products using ArcGIS (version 9.3 or higher) software products
• Update the GIS master database layers for spatial geometry and attributes and the metatdata associated with each GIS data layer
• Generate/regenerate standard map products and maintain, update and document GIS data standards and the specifications for digital data deliverables
• Conduct and consult on data needs assessments
• Perform ad hoc analyses and create ad hoc map products
• Review technical requirements to meet data development objectives and perform quality assurance on data deliverables received for inclusion in the GIS
• Provide consultation for GIS strategic planning and resolution of issues, technical assistance and training and liaison support with Installation GI&S Manager and other installation clients
• Manage GIS web site content and other systems and maintain a GIS Program Binder on-line and hardcopy detailing documentation that captures the processes and actions involved in completing assigned duties listed above
