The Wheatstone LNG Project is a multi-train Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and domestic gas (DomGas) plant near Onslow on the Pilbara Coast. Bechtel is honored to participate in the engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up of this LNG plant.

Bechtel is seeking a Lead Field Engineer Civil- Structural to join the Wheatstone LNG Project working from the Onslow site.

Role Overview

Supports the scope development and execution planning for structural packages (pipe racks, buildings, walkways, access dating etc) and heavy involvement in the mobilization of early subcontractors setting up the infrastructure required to build the LNG plant.
Evaluates subcontracts, assisting in reviewing their pre mob deliverables, and later on oversight of the structural sitework and associated subcontracts, input to and support of the project schedule development,
Prepares reports and forecasts for the quality and quantity tracking as required for structural subcontractors. Problem resolution and inspection of field installations.
Performs inspections and documentation of all structural work in progress on a continuing basis.Ensures that construction requirements are made known to the project team in a timely manner and obtains construction responses to the needs of other members of the project team.
Develops and applies construction procedures which may be unique and innovative in nature to resolve complex and difficult problems which may arise.

Basic Qualifications

Degree qualification in Structural Engineering plus related field experience is essential
Strong experience working with and coordinating sub contractors in the field is essential
Strong supervision experience including the ability to lead and manage change is desirable
Good working knowledge of Teamworks is desirable
Excellent problem solving ability

*** Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
