The Wheatstone LNG Project is a multi-train Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and domestic gas (DomGas) plant near Onslow on the Pilbara Coast. Bechtel is honored to participate in the engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up of this LNG plant.

Bechtel is seeking a Field Engineer Piping to join the Wheatstone LNG Project working FIFO to the job site.

Role Overview

Responsible for working with the piping field engineering lead to plan execution of all piping including modularized and stick-built A/G piping, module interconnects, U/G piping, pipe supports, hangers, welding operations, system completion and testing, and turnover to startup and pre-commissioning.
Ensures that construction requirements are made known to the project team in a timely manner and obtains construction responses to the needs of other members of the project team.
Performs duties under minimal direction by management. Develops and applies construction procedures which may be unique and innovative in nature to resolve complex and difficult problems which may arise.
Design development and, where possible, suggest economical and safety enhancing construction details to be incorporated into design drawings and specifications for both permanent plant and construction facilities.
Interfaces with other coordinators and other Construction groups (i.e. BEO, Safety, automation, etc) to develop the most economical construction methods and techniques.
Participates in module review resolving constructability challenges.
Participates in the preparation and review of construction cost estimates, budgets, forecasts, and schedules.

Basic Qualifications

Significant experience in piping construction execution is required, preferably on an LNG project
Strong experience in field engineering is required
Module experience is preferred
Familiarity with Australian codes is essential

*** Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
