The Wheatstone LNG Project is a multi-train Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and domestic gas (DomGas) plant near Onslow on the Pilbara Coast. Bechtel is honored to participate in the engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up of this LNG plant.

Bechtel is seeking a Superintendent Civil - Marine to join the Wheatstone LNG Project working from the Onslow site

Role Overview

This position will be responsible for:

Coordination of marine construction sub-contractors including the construction of the mainland marine facilities, construction dock, materials offloading facility and LNG jetty
Interfacing with sub-contractors and monitoring their performance against the schedule
Ensuring best industry practices are being delivered by sub-contractors
Supporting project quality, cost and schedule requirements
Providing direction and supervision for subordinate personnel within assigned area of responsibility
Ensuring assigned activities are executed in compliance with all applicable Bechtel work processes and procedures
Promoting safety as a value and ensure all work activities meet Bechtel's ES&H requirements and objectives

Basic Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering from a recognized university
Significant experience on mega projects for EPC or EPCM contractors with a project value above 2 Billion USD (specifically within marine civil infrastructure including dredging )
Bechtel experience within the Construction Function strongly preferred

Extensive experience in pipe pile installation, concrete marine structures, causeway and rock abutment structures
Supervision of earthworks/roads/drainage projects
Must be able to demonstrate a strong background of delivering projects on time and to budget
Strong subcontractor management and leadership skills
Strong knowledge and awareness of OH&S and quality requirements
Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills

*** Work includes field inspections and the physical ability to conduct field inspections which require the following activities: extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, working on elevated platforms, working on uneven surfaces and working in small or confined spaces. Some lifting may be required. Must have the ability to walk into and out of the project (enter/egress). Must be able to use appropriate standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. harness, life vest, lift buckets, etc.)
