Job Description:  AECOM is seeking a candidate for the Highway/Civil Department in Chelmsford, Massachusetts in the Boston area.
Candidates are required to have a BS degree in Civil Engineering, 8+ years of relevant experience and a PE license.
Work will consist of civil and roadway design, storm water and utility coordination/design, grading, alignment, pavement engineering, sidewalks/bike paths, ADA requirements, right of way plans, public presentations, specifications, estimates, field work, and assisting with environmental permitting.
Candidate must also have experience with setting up and tracking project financials, percent complete, invoicing, and scheduling.
Projects will include interstate highways, urban roadways, downtown local roadways, and bike trails. Some site work may also be included.
Experience is required in the design and preparation of MassDOT roadway projects. Knowledge of MassDOT procedures, design standards, personnel, and submittal procedures is required.
Strong experience with AutoCAD required, experience with Civil 3-D and/or micro station and drainage software like HydroCAD a plus.
The following are also desirable:

  • Similar experience in other New England States
  • Similar experience with the MBTA or Massport
  • Experience preparing construction plans for municipalities, site work and municipal client relationshipsExperience in traffic and structural design a plus but not required.
Successful candidates will be based out of the Chelmsford office, and may from time to time travel during the day or evenings to project sites, client meetings or other AECOM New England Offices. Successful candidates will be expected to work independently and in design teams to advance projects through the MassDOT process.
