Job description: The Urban Designer IV will be supporting principals in charges within the UD + P studio in San Francisco. Must have familiarity with working on high-profile, fast pace international projects, such as those in China. Primary responsibilities include: • Demonstrating experience in both leading and working within a team structure; • Assisting in developing master planning concepts that incorporate buildings, open space, transportation, and infrastructure; • Organizing information in written and drawn formats, including all necessary calculations, and translating design sketches into AutoCAD or Illustrator drawings; • Coordinating sub-consultant work, project schedules, and budgets; • Developing technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems (independently determines and develops approach to solutions); and • Preparing presentation graphics, posters and documents. Basic Minimum Requirements: Candidate must have 10+ years of experience in urban design, architecture and/or planning-related projects. • Must have familiarity with working on domestic work and high-profile, fast pace international projects, such as those in China. • Strong design capabilities in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite. • Enthusiastic and creative, with the ability to multi-task and handle competing deadlines. • Must be organized and have good communication skills • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
