The AECOM Rocky Hill, Connecticut Transportation office is seeking a Manager of Rail Design for the New England District with exceptional communication and management skills to support and lead our teams on current business and new business and who has the ability to develop and grow a rail practice in New England. Current business includes work in CT, MA, RI, NY and NJ and global assignments in Trinidad, Saudi Arabia and other countries. Clients include state and federal agencies, municipalities and private clients. This an exciting opportunity to continue growing your CT career with the largest design firm in the world. You will manage staff, oversee project execution, lead new business pursuits and business development locally and globally.
This hire will support, oversee and coordinate engineering production activities for an operating unit. Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative. Initiates and maintains contact with senior level management within the company and is skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation of critical issues. At this level, the individual will have demonstrated understanding of project delivery requirements, creativity, foresight, working with a multi-disciplinary team to meet project goals and deliver high quality technical excellence. Demonstrates mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual operations problems, determining operational objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. Plans and directs the engineering practice for an operational unit, department, or specialty. Ensures directly and through subordinates, that projects are completed on time and to company standards. Provides marketing and business development support and may have considerable interaction with clients. Provides periodic progress reports to senior management. This is a higher-level manager. Position requires extensive progressive experience. |
