As a Deputy Site Manager (DSM) with AECOM, you will have daily operational oversight for that location .The Major Duties listed below address the requirements as those assigned to a specific DSM by the Site Manager/Program Manager.
Major Duties: As Deputy Site Manager (DSM), you will be responsible for the overall screening procedures, processes (e.g., passenger, baggage, cargo, etc.), performance, and the use good judgment while making decisions in the field. As DSM you will manage multiple shifts and/or locations simultaneously. In addition, the DSM performs the following duties:


  • Manages screening checkpoints that are central to TSA objectives which serve to protect the traveling public by preventing any deadly or dangerous objects from being transported onto an aircraft.

  • Recognizes and recommends correction of improper use or application of equipment, provides guidance to subordinates, and answers routine questions presented by subordinates.

  • Manages and supports the collections of various performance metrics in an effort to identify areas in need of process improvement and systemic or individual weaknesses, vulnerabilities, or inefficiencies in the screening process.

  • Coordinates national and local crisis management and incident response protocols.

  • Recognizes and understands the customer service needs of the traveling public and balances these needs with safety and security in mind.

  • Works cooperatively with TSA Management and airport stakeholders in furtherance of AECOM's mission.

  • Monitors individual performance and provides frequent communication in order to promote screener development.

  • Maintains communication with supervisors regarding any issues that might reveal a weakness or vulnerable area of security screening that is discovered in the course of screening duties.

  • Participates in information briefings concerning security-sensitive or classified information.

  • Possesses skills in workforce scheduling and training.

  • Creates daily personnel schedules for all shifts and ensures sufficient coverage during operating hours.

  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work activities and set priorities to meet deadlines

Medical Requirements: DSM must meet job-related medical standards that will be assessed in a pre-employment medical evaluation that considers relevant aspects of all body systems (e.g., cardiovascular, respiratory, musculoskeletal, auditory, etc.). These medical standards include but are not limited to: Visual ability including two functioning eyes with: a) distance vision correctable to 20/30 or better in the best eye and 20/100 or better in the worse eye, b) near vision correctable to 20/40 or better binocular, and c) color perception (e.g., red, green, blue, yellow, orange, purple, brown, black, white, gray). Color filters (e.g., contact lenses) for enhancing color discrimination are prohibited; Hearing ability (corrected or uncorrected) as measured by audiometry cannot exceed: a) an average hearing loss of 25 decibels (ANSI) at 500, 1000, 2000 and 3000Hz in each ear, and b) single reading of 45 decibels at 4000 and 6000 Hz in each ear; Adequate joint mobility, dexterity and range of motion, strength, and stability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 70 pounds; and Blood pressure not to exceed 140 / 90. Candidates must continue to maintain the same level of medical requirements during employment. Appointment to this position is contingent upon a negative drug test result. Any individual tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. This position is subject to random drug testing.

Decision Making: Make effective decisions in both crisis and routine situations.

Training Requirements: DSM must take the computerized Screener Assessment Battery. These tests evaluate English proficiency, and the aptitude for x-ray interpretation. DSM must participate in and pass all recurrent and specialized training and recertification tests on a periodic basis.

Communication: DSM is required to communicate with the public, giving directions and responding to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner. Applicants must possess customer service skills, be dependable and operate with integrity.

Security Requirements: DSM must pass a pre-employment drug screening test and a background investigation, including a criminal check and a credit check.
This is a non-critical sensitive National Security position that requires you to be fingerprinted, photographed, and complete appropriate security paperwork, including a SF-86 Questionnaire for National Security Positions. The pre-employment background investigation must be COMPLETED with favorable results prior to a final offer of employment and cannot be initiated until submission of a completed questionnaire.

If your credit check reveals any of the following YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS POSITION: Defaulted on $7,500 or more in debt (excluding certain circumstances of bankruptcy).
Owe any delinquent Federal or State taxes.
Owe any past due child support payments.

Equipment Used: X-Ray, hand wand, Explosive Trace Detection

Work Environment: Maintain focus and awareness and work within a stressful environment which includes noise from alarms, machinery, and people, distractions, time pressure, disruptive and angry passengers, and the requirement to identify and locate potentially life threatening devices and devices intended on creating massive destruction.

Candidate must be available to work various shifts and overtime, as needed.
