Job Description:  The Natural Resources Manager will be  growing our natural resources portfolio and providing program leadership within the greater PNW geography. The successful candidate will use their strong scientific, analytical, and technical skills in conjunction with excellent leadership, project planning and management, and communication skills to manage and team of ecologists and environmental planners. The ideal candidate will provide client service and pursuit leadership for federal, energy, and local client sectors, lead preparation of proposals for environmental projects; contribute to client relationships and business development efforts. Projects are primarily located in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, with occasional projects in Alaska and California.

Responsibilities:


  • Team leadership, and mentoring of natural resources staff
  • Business development/marketing for the environmental practice in various market sectors including transportation, water, energy, DOD, etc.
  • Development of staff and other specific group resources to support practice opportunities and growthInteractions with clients to provide guidance and advice for compliance with SEPA/NEPA and related statutes and authorities (e.g. ESA, Section 106, Section 7, Section 404, etc.)
  • Leading NEPA/SEPA evaluations and environmental permits for all types and sizes of projects
Requirements:


  • Strong technical background in one or more related disciplines (ecology, fisheries, natural resources management; habitat restoration; NEPA compliance; and/or permitting).
  • Requires a familiarity with Microsoft Office and database programs, plant and wildlife identification skills, endangered species ecology, wetland delineation procedures, solid writing skills, and versatility in working in cross-disciplined projects.
  • A minimum of 15 years of prior and increasingly responsible experience in similar roles required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in fisheries biology, ecology, natural resources planning, or related field is required (A Master's Degree or Ph.D. in these same fields is preferred).
  • Subject matter expert in one or more resource topic areas required for NEPA compliance.
  • Permitting experience.
  • License/Certification:*
  • Must be a US Citizen, licensed driver, and be able to pass government security screening resulting in a DOD security clearance.
