AECOM is expanding its engineering capabilities in the Pacific Northwest. The mid-level chemical or chemical engineer will be based in our Seattle, WA office. This individual will serve as an engineering resource to an office of over 50 professionals in the areas of environmental remediation and restoration.
Responsibilities:
- The successful applicant will manage and prepare sediment characterization assessments and feasibility studies for cleanup of complex sediment sites; focus on client and regulatory communication relating to technical issues and cleanup strategies; assist in the preparation of CERCLA and state-led RI/FS and remedial design documents; implement dredging, stabilization, and capping projects for contaminated sediments.
- Build new client relationships through project work and communication; and maintain an understanding of current approaches and methods for sediment remediation; and prepare and deliver presentations, both internally and at conferences.
- Additional responsibilities will include providing technical support for process design, the civil component of remediation projects, permitting, and instrumentation/ process control. The individual will contribute directly to the preparation and review of technical project deliverables (e.g., engineering design reports, plans and specifications).
- We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented individual that will contribute on projects regarding technical approach, numerical analysis, cost estimation, planning, scheduling, staffing, budget management, quality control, and safety.
- Job duties will involve both field and office assignments with occasional overnight travel required; preparation of technical and status reports involving complex numerical analysis; project scheduling and development of engineering cost estimates. Candidate should have an understanding and working knowledge of remediation processes, particularly in regards to sediment remediation.
Qualifications:
BS or MS degree in civil or chemical engineering. Minimum of 5 to 8 years of environmental engineering experience. Registered as an EIT in Washington and/or Oregon (PE preferred).
