Healthcare Planning Director Position Summary AECOM seeks a strong team leader, who is innovative and on the cutting edge of Healthcare Planning trends and technology. The ideal candidate would be an excellent people manager, well versed in industry best practices with the ability to identify training and development opportunities for the department. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing large, complex projects domestically and internationally. Duties and Responsibilities: Project Oversight and Management (75%) • Leads master planning, planning activities and space programming for complex projects. • Oversees the planning team in all activities including budget, strategy, execution, best practices, and other key performance areas • Ensures Healthcare Planning team stays current with industry trends and technology, identifying training opportunities and skills gaps in the team • Develops best practices for the department based on industry standards • Ability to oversee and direct multiple planning teams for several projects simultaneously. • Develop and market planning and programming management tools that are unique to market segment and meet identified customer needs. • Work with the consulting team and marketing staff to develop concise, well-written marketing materials to establish firm as national leader in facilities planning and programming. • Provides leadership in the specialized areas of maintaining the planning and programming excellence on large, complex projects and directs the work of other architects, engineers, designers, and planners • Provides client-facing customer service • Builds and maintains key relationships in the industry and among clients providing high quality and timely input regarding the technology, planning and design for projects that is responsive to fulfilling clients' needs. • Manages and tracks key project deliverables with an eye to quality and cost management • Sets standards for quality production and quality control in the areas of planning, programming and design. Business Development (25%) • Markets overall portfolio, particularly the largest planning projects. • Develops strategies for new business, participates in capture activities, as well as participates and leads new business pursuits • Provides thought leadership to the business as well as participates in writing white papers and conferences as needed Qualifications: • Architectural degree with a minimum of 15 years in the profession, post-graduation. • Experience on all phases and aspects of multiple, large and complex projects required, preferably projects valued at $20 million or more • 10 years of experience in the healthcare planning sector strongly preferred. • Deep knowledge of planning trends as it relates to healthcare • Ability to integrate into a multi-disciplinary team • Advanced knowledge of project design, planning, programming, and construction documentation and construction materials. • Advanced graphic, word processing and spreadsheet skills. • Basic knowledge of CADD and 3D computer modeling. • Significant supervisory experience or directing the work of others required, preferably with previous experience managing a mid-sized team of 5 or more • Professional registration required. • Ability to travel for extended periods of time preferred.
