Job Description:  Senior Project Managers/Directors (Capture Managers) are important members of AECOM's design and business development teams. These individuals are devoted to securing, planning, developing, organizing and supervising the A/E efforts that ensure success. They play lead professional role in winning business from both existing clients and prospects.
 
AECOM Buildings + Places specifically seeks a Healthcare Senior Project Manager for the U.S. Central Region. This individual will focus exclusively on healthcare opportunities consisting primarily of regional and community hospital projects as well as cultivating opportunities at academic medical centers. The successful candidate will be based in the Minneapolis-St. Paul office.  
 
Primary Responsibilities
 

  • Secure, plan, develop, organize and supervise A/E efforts related to healthcare projects appropriate for Building + Places.
  • Ensure success as measured by client satisfaction, work quality, profitability and internal collaboration efforts.
  • Provide design leadership, mentoring and creative design solutions specific to the healthcare market.
  • Develop an understanding of overall project goals and constraints, including client objectives, design criteria, construction and budget parameters and schedule requirements.
  • Participate in business development planning for assigned market(s) and sales of Buildings and Places' services.
  • Establish successful client relationships with the goal of winning more work.
  • Hold the entire project team accountable for all aspects of project performance.

  • Help e xpand the firm's network of contacts within the regional healthcare community.

  • Identify appropriate Buildings + Places' teams and larger consultant teams specific to each opportunity.

  • Collaborate with business development, market and expertise leaders to develop target clients for new and existing business.
  • Understand and articulate Buildings + Places' value proposition for diverse client requirements within the healthcare market.
  • Incorporate Buildings + Places' multiple services and capabilities to the greatest extent possible within opportunities .
  • Participate in continuing education to remain aware of activities and developments in the healthcare market.
  • Maintain and report complete, accurate and timely records of all individual business development-related activities via Salesforce.com.
  • Lead project teams and Proposal Coordinators in developing responses to RFQs and RFPs and interview preparation. Coach teams as they prepare for interviews for new business.

  • Monitor marketing conditions and report observations to the Vice President, Central Region Business Line Leader so as to assist the firm in strategic planning activities.
 
Qualifications
 

  • Architectural degree with a minimum of 10 years in the profession.
  • Professional registration required.
  • Proven experience securing large, complex healthcare projects.
  • Previous project supervisory experience.
  • Current, positive healthcare relationships.
  • Motivated, high-energy professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment.

  • Ability to plan, execute and take responsibility for large, complex projects.
  • Detailed understanding of various regulatory building codes related to healthcare facilities.
  • Working knowledge of current construction materials and methods.
  • Hands-on familiarity with project planning/forecasting and control methods using applicable tools.
  • Understanding of all aspects of project cash flow, revenue recognition and other key performance indicators.
  • Thorough knowledge of design production techniques, including computer software required.
  • Ability to secure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capable of and interest in driving the B+P business to success.
