The Wheatstone LNG Project is a multi-train Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and domestic gas (DomGas) plant near Onslow on the Pilbara Coast. Bechtel is honored to participate in the engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up of this LNG plant.
Bechtel is seeking a Traffic & Logistics Specialist to join the Wheatstone LNG Project in the Perth office.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinates shipments with requisite internal and external entities to ensure the safe and timely delivery of materials and equipment from supplier's delivery point, ports of entry, to T&L service provider's facilities or to Bechtel jobsite.
- Ensures timely entry of shipment milestone data in BPS to provide visibility of line item shipment status.
- Creates T&L reports or performance metrics as required to satisfy project information requirements.
- Ensures timely processing of T&L service provider tax invoices in accordance with project procedures; service provider agreements and corporate payment procedures.
- Assists in identifying transport cost and service alternatives to support materials/equipment purchase decisions and use of T&L service providers.
- Assists the project T&L lead as requested.
- Assist with filing and resolution of T&L service provider claims.
- Generates commercial bid evaluations; commitment authorizations and agreement documents in accordance with Bechtel policies and procedures.
- Assists with the preparation of logistics studies including site and T&L service provider facilities.
- Integrates safety principles and measures in all T&L activities
About You:
- Bachelor's Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Business; Logistics; Construction Management highly regarded
- Perth based position but may include FiFo to Onslow jobsite at a later date
- Interpersonal skills and self-confidence to effectively execute a multi-billion dollar project
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to create mutually rewarding solutions
- Direct experience with road transport companies operating in Australia and working knowledge of National Transport Commission Load Restraint Guide 2nd Edition
- Direct experience with Main Roads Western Australia Over Size Over Mass (OSOM) Unit; broad understanding and working knowledge of Restricted Access Vehicle (RAV) regulations; permits; pilots and traffic escort services
- Experience working in a small team of logistics professionals to establish goals; set priorities and resolve issues
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office 2010 software; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access.
- Experience coordinating import/export formalities with international freight forwarders and customs brokerage firms beneficial
- Experience with Australian Customs and Border Protection Service; DAFF Biosecurity and cargo handling operations beneficial
- Direct experience with international freight forwarders and customs brokerage firms to coordinate import/export formalities beneficial
- Prior experience with EPC firm a plus
